Childrens Film- conventions of a fantasy film: Toy story 3

In this opening scene we see that the characters are fictional and are easily able to relate to the audience by using the humour they produce with their comical genius. The variation in colours also helps the audience relate to the characters as it helps set more of a friendly mood and atmosphere. The opening scene also sets the plot for the whole film as we can see or have an educated guess at what is going to happen to the toys when their owner goes of to college. The music changes all the way through the opening scene as we start of with an establishing shot (which helps set the scene) then moves to a more upbeat music style as there is more action taken up on screen when woody almost loses tack with his close pals buzz and co, this helps engage the audience to the film.
